Carousel 6.2.2 Release Notes ========================================================= * Bug 6066 | The public site for Carousel doesn't have ALT text set for bulletin previews -There is now ALT text on the bulletins in the public web site, it will show the description text of each bulletin. * Bug 6071 | Enterprise clarification for username and pass when not on domain -We made various updates to the documentation * Bug 6228 | WebPicture Snapshots can cease updating after a period of time -A problem with creating the temporary location for web picture snapshots to download content to was fixed so it should keep updating now. * Bug 6275 | Change Contemporary Research tuner input to be component instead of HDMI -To avoid issues with HDCP on HDMI, Carousel will now use the component signal to connect the tuner to the Carousel Player. * Bug 6293 | Possible error when uploading thin image files -Really skinny or really wide images can have an error while being processed due to a rounding error reducing them to 0 pixels wide or tall. We now enforce a minimum size to prevent this from happening. * Bug 6316 | Weather Bulletins grab the current high, not the forecasted high temperature -Forecast information is now embedded as available fields for a bulletin to use -- see available fields for details, when creating or editing a weather bulletin. For example, #Forecast0TemperatureHigh# would be today's predicted high, #Forecast1TemperatureHigh# would be tomorrow's, etc. * Bug 6327 | Enable silent Clone channel imports -From the command line, the Clone tool will now accept a "-force" option to import a channel without asking the user for confirmation. * Bug 6329 | Media helpers can crash on players running Windows 7 -Changes were made to some exceptions that were implemented for Windows XP to deal with Windows 7's new crash reporting. * Bug 6337 | No notification that bulletin to approve is an alert -A user can only move or copy a bulletin to be an alert bulletin if they have permission and it will also require authorization again if the user doesn't have auto-authorize access. Additionally, the approval screen will now indicate if a bulletin is to be displayed as an alert after approval. * Bug 6350 | Make VLC work for streaming -If the option to use VLC is set in the configuration, live video stream bulletins will now use VLC as well. * Bug 6353 | Bulletin properties should reflect current selections -The summary to the right while creating bulletins will now show "Until Manually Turned Off", when that option is selected. * Bug 6359 | Weather bulletins need an option to show temperatures in C or F -Rather than using the default of the temperature unit for the location in the bulletin, there are now several additional fields available to use in the bulletin that allow you to display #Temperature#, #Dewpoint#, etc. in a specific unit by appending InC or InF, i.e. #TemperatureInC#. * Bug 6364 | Bottom date field on Event Schedule doesn't work -The duplicated date in the bottom set of options in the Event Schedule page will now change the date for which you're editing the schedule. * Bug 6370 | Can't pull pubDate from RSS feed, manual and software disagree -Consistency! * Bug 6374 | Can't always move/copy bulletins to a full screen alert zone -The option to move or copy a bulletin to a full screen alert zone would not appear if there was only one full screen alert zone. The option will now be there if any full screen alerts are on the system. * Bug 6379 | Selecting a different color for the count down clock reverts Style to Digital -An invalid count down date would cause the clock type to be reset. It will now properly remember what type you've selected. * Bug 6381 | Page elements move around while inputting on IE browser -A formatting error was fixed on the page for creating a clock bulletin that could occur if your browser window was not wide enough. * Bug 6402 | Alternate Color check box doesn't show the color options immediately -An error was fixed on the page which will allow IE to show the color options immediately after clicking the "Alternate Color" checkbox. * Bug 6406 | Snap Player - Player error with no bulletins -If there are no bulletins on a snap player's channel, an error could occur that would keep it from updating in a timely manner in the future. * Bug 6407 | Snap Player - cache can make bulletin changes never appear -The cache is bypassed so that changes to bulletins will appear much quicker on the player. * Bug 6414 | Description for RSS bulletin is wrong -The automatically generated description for an RSS bulletin using an uploaded file was using whatever text was entered int he URL field, even though the URL wasn't being used. It now uses the filename from what you uploaded. * Bug 6415 | RSS doesn't render local feed -An error could previously prevent an uploaded RSS feed from being rendered the first time or changing if you re-upload a different file. It now will force the bulletin to render if there is no rendered copy or if the RSS feed gets uploaded again and has changed. * Bug 6426 | Template editor won't load with long text fields -On Windows 7 systems, the application's configuration was updated to increase the allowed query string length to allow for longer text fields. Windows 7 users should set their requestLimits to: * Bug 6432 | Color palette and controls disappear while editing a template -A little UI tweak * Bug 6441 | Snap Player stability fixes -Snap players now handle server connection instability better. * Bug 6443 | Solo 220 and 230 can not fade background audio -Different audio drivers would cause audio to not fade properly in Windows 7 * Bug 6538 | Log in is slow with many zones or users -When you had many zones and users the loving would be slow. It would get progressively slower as you added zones. This seems to happen around >300 zones and >100 users.
